PI Background

Florent Ginhoux is a Senior Principal Investigator at the Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN), A*STAR and an Adjunct Professor at the Shanghai Institute of Immunology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He is one of the top scientists in the field of myeloid cells, and has published works in Nature, Science, Cell, Immunity and Nature Immunology as a corresponding author. Research in the lab focuses on understanding the ontogeny and function of myeloid cells in both humans and mice, as well as the function of these cells in tumor immunology. In 2019, we generated a monocyte fate mapping model that can distinguish macrophages with different developmental origins (embryonic or monocyte-derived) and published our findings in Cell, paving the way to investigating the function of macrophages with different origins in tumors. Myeloid cells are the most abundant population in the tumor microenvironment and are key mediators of cellular cross-talk, and are thereby valuable therapeutic targets. Potential intervention strategies aiming at manipulation of these cells will require in-depth insights of their origins and the mechanisms that govern their homeostasis. Through the use of Ms4a3 monocyte fate mapping models, we can begin to have a clearer understanding of these questions.

Postdoc Positions

The Ginhoux lab is looking for highly motivated and talented scientists to address the fundamental questions in the field of myeloid cells. Candidates with Ph.D., M.D., degrees that are interested in understanding the ontogeny and function of myeloid cells in tumor biology are welcome to apply. Please email your CV, a brief description of your previous work and your future research interests to Florent_Ginhoux@immunol.a-star.edu.sg
